A SpaceX rocket exploded during a test flight on Thursday. The rocket, called Starship, took off from Texas and flew for about nine minutes before breaking apart in space. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, called the explosion a “minor setback” and said the next rocket will be ready in a few weeks. The first stage of the rocket, called Super Heavy, returned to Earth safely and was caught by a special tower. The upper stage, however, lost control and could not complete its flight.

Some airports in Florida stopped flights briefly because of possible space debris. The U.S. government will now investigate the accident. Starship is part of SpaceX’s plan to send people to Mars in the future, but the project still faces many challenges.
