LINE MUSIC has shared the top 10 spring songs for each age group in Japan. The rankings come from a recent survey asking people in their teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s+ what songs they want to hear in spring.
For teenagers, the number one song was “Lilac” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE. Many teens said the song feels fresh and bright, just like spring. In second place was “Spring Thief” by Yorushika, and third was “Spring Complaints” also by Mrs. GREEN APPLE.
For people in their 20s, the top song was “Spring Song” by Spitz. Listeners said it feels like the start of a new season. “March 9” by Remioromen and “Sakura Sake” by Arashi were also in the top three.
In the 30s group, “Sakura” by Ketsumeishi was number one. People said it reminds them of cherry blossoms and spring driving. “Sakura” by Naotaro Moriyama and “Spring Song” by Spitz followed close behind.
For people in their 40s and older, the top pick was also “Sakura” by Naotaro Moriyama. Many said it matches the feelings of spring goodbyes and new starts. “Sakura” by Ketsumeishi and “Spring, Come” by Yuki Matsuda were also popular.
